Located north of Crawley, West Sussex, Gatwick Airport is London’s second busiest airport after Heathrow. Approximately 28 miles south of the city, this London airport opened in 1958 and has since become the seventh busiest airport in the world. Around 90 airlines carry more than 32 million passengers through Gatwick per annum.
Gatwick Airport has two runways and two terminals called the South Terminal and the North Terminal. Transportation between both terminals is free of cost via airport shuttles. Transportation from Gatwick to London is easiest via fast rail. Infact, Gatwick used to be the first airport in the world with Rail links to city. Staying at the airport is not a bad idea. Most hotels near Gatwick Airport are 3-4 star hotels and almost all hotels offer a free shuttle service to and from the airport.
