The Academy is a true luxury hotel in central London near the West End and just a few steps from the British Museum. The hotel has been completely renovated and all the rooms are décorated in high style. The facade is made up of five Georgian townhouses that have been linked together to form the hotel. 49 deluxe rooms and suites are both contemporary and graced with details that maintain the historic tone of the building. Some of the rooms have large, split-level bathrooms with claw foot tubs, others have authentic fireplace that were uncovered during the remodel. Amenities include satellite TV, direct dial phone, Internet access, tea and coffee, turn down service, luxury toiletries, CD player, safe, bathrobe and slippers, Frette Egyptian cotton linens, and mini-bar. There are two private gardens with fishponds as well as indoor guest lounges on some floors that lend the atmosphere of a functioning private home. The Alchemy restaurant serves continental buffet or traditional English breakfast.

The hotel is on busy Gower Street, just a block away from the activity of Russell Square, and a few steps from the British museum. The Goodge Street Tube station can whisk you to any other area of the city, but there's plenty to see and do nearby. Visit historic Covent Garden or try the nightlife of Soho. There's also plenty of shopping on Oxford, Bond, and Regent Streets. The hotel is within easy reach of Piccadilly Circus and the glittering West End theater district as well as London's main financial center. The Academy offers luxury, a great location, and opulent historic ambiance.

I was very pleased with the overall experience. My room was comfortable and made me feel like I was at home. Everyone was very kind and helpful specially during breakfasts. I will surely be back with my family and will also recommend The Academy to my friends. Its location is perfect for visiting The British Museum and at walking distance to the theater district.

It's value for money. Cleanliness, prompt customer service and above all the constant smile made my day. I feel they charge less in comparison to the hotels nearby and yet provide a 5 star service. Keep up the good work.
