The Buckingham is a small Georgian townhouse situated in the quieter area of central London and the showy West End. This intimate boutique hotel has a contemporary style, yet maintains the historic feel of the nearby Bloomsbury district. The 17 studio rooms and suites carry a distinctive historic feel with elegant appointments of colored fabric and traditionally style furniture. Suites include a living area, a kitchenette, and marble and granite bathroom. Large windows allow for plenty of light, with some facing the private walled garden out back. Standard room amenities include satellite TV, direct dial phone, coffee makers irons, Internet access, and room service. 24-hour reception is offered in a lobby décorated with Georgian finery. Non-smoking rooms are available, as is bell, porter, laundry, and dry cleaning service. The hotel's restaurant overlooks the private garden and serves traditional English breakfasts as well as other meals.

The quiet location is just around the corner from the activity of Russell Square, and a few steps from the famed British museum. The Russell Square Tube station can whisk you to any other area of the city, but there's plenty more to see and do nearby. Visit historic Covent Garden or try the nightlife of Soho. There's also plenty of shopping on Oxford, Bond, and Regent Streets. The hotel is within easy reach of Piccadilly Circus and the glittering West End theater district as well as London's main financial center. The Buckingham offers both a central location and historic ambiance.

The staff was very pleasant and professional. They stood and greeted us each time we walked past the front desk. The entire hotel was clean and well kept. Some of the furniture looked a bit worn but this was of no consequence. Room size was more than adequate and everything was operational. This hotel is in a good location, just steps from the British Museum and a 5-10 minute walk from Covent Garden.

Absolutely horrible hotel to stay in. Surly staff, poor facilities, tiny bedroom. Would NOT reccommend.
