CORUS HOTEL HYDE PARK - London Hotels .com

We had booked a room with twin beds. They first offered a room with a double bed. Then they found a twin room, but that was very small, dark and overlooking the garbage cans. When I asked for a change, they said that the only other twin rooms available would cost an extra 20 pounds per day. I asked to see the room and they brought me to a room with a double bed. I then waited in the hallway until they returned with a key for another room. I told them that this was not acceptable and that I would find another hotel. They reminded me that I had paid in full and that it wasn't refundable - so I would have lost four days fee. I was forced to accept paying the extra money. I was then given a key that didn't work. After 20 hours on planes and in airports, one would expect better treatment. Beware of the phone rates - even if you are using a calling card, they charge 75 cents per minute. And there is more... As it turned out, I needed another room, which they could offer me at an inflated price. I went to a little hotel down the road where I paid half the price of the Corus, the room was brighter, cleaner and had all the amenities of the Corus AND the staff was absolutely wonderful! Stay away from the Corus.
