Just nearby are historic Covent Garden and the nightlife of Soho. There's also plenty of shopping on Oxford, Bond, and Regent Streets. Another nearby famous attraction is the British Museum, the largest museum in the world. The hotel is within easy reach of Piccadilly Circus and the glittering West End theater district as well as London's main financial center. The Hotel Russell offers authentic luxury in the best of locations. Amenities:

Hotel Russell is a lovely place, the building is beautiful and the interiors are plush and refined. My room was large and very tidy, the bathroom was modern and luxurious. The location of the hotel is fantastic, within a short walk of the centre of London Shopping and galleries. As regards value for money, if you want a treat on a budget stay on a Sunday night, that is when rates are lowest. If you can afford a real treat stay here for several nights and soak up the sights of London.
The only downside is that my room was at the front of the Hotel which ensured a constant stream of traffic noise. If they fitted double glazing this would be close to the perfect hotel for me.

This is a great hotel with a gracious staff, excellent guest services, newly refurbished rooms, great bathrooms, lovely public areas and excellent food. Its setting on Russell Square gives the hotel a calmness in the midst of an excellent central London location.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, walking distance from all major attractions and landmarks. On the outside, the hotel definitely provides for an exquisite London experience. I appreciate that this is most likely an exception then the rule but the quality of the room I stayed in was rather poor. Besides there was no sunlight in the room, the noise from A/C aggregates placed outside the room was quite disturbing. Despite the description in commercials the room was very small and uncomfortable for a 4 star hotel. In addition, the hotel staff was unable to provide me with a proper invoice required for tax purposes of a business traveler.

Of course most hotels in London are over-priced, the Russell is no exception. However it would be
appropriate to have breakfast included in the rate, not seek 19 pounds extra. Overall, worth a try, rooms are modern and clean and location good.

The room was clean and fully provisioned with towels and coffees. Elevators worked and were not overcrowded. Breakfast was good with reasonably prompt service.
Not recommended.

We were given really poor quality rooms, unrefurbished and had to argue twice just to have a proper room. Usually happens when we book via internet sites.
