Steeped in the rich history of central London, in a neighborhood designed by the famous diarist Samuel Pepys himself, the Orchard Hotel is easy on the budget and rich in tradition. This nineteenth-century Victorian hotel is privately operated. Close to Oxford Street and Hyde Park, it is removed from the main thoroughfares in a quiet, tree-lined street. Still, it is in the city. Hyde Park is only a short walk to Kensington Gardens, Marble Arch, Hyde Park and the West End theater district. Buckingham Palace is a leisurely stroll away, or easily accessible by public transit: The tube and bus lines stop near the Orchard. At Paddington Station, a short walk from the hotel, one can catch the Heathrow Express and get to London Heathrow Airport in 15-20 minutes.

The Orchard Hotel serves a complimentary full English breakfast to all guests, daily. Every room in the hotel has a private bathroom, and each is equipped with satellite TV. The Orchard Hotel also has a lounge for those wishing to unwind in the company of others.

Not what we expected of this room at all!! On the pics it looks good, but the room was tiny (as was the bathroom, shower was something like a square meter), looked out on a small "garden" but without any plants in it. The staff was far from friendly. When we came in the receptionist didn't even greet us, she was to busy talking (arguing) to someone on the phone. The breakfast was poor, served in a very hot space in the cellar (even though it was winter it felt like summer) by one grumpy and one very friendly lady (although both of them didn't really say anything). This was for both of us one of the worst hotels we stayed at and it doesn't deserve a three star rating at all!!

The area is lively and had good access to lots of restaurants and shops. Proximity to Paddington Station made sightseeing easy. Only downside was that our room was on the Sussex Gardens street side of the hotel (the front) and was a bit noisy.

Room was small...not cool if your with family or girlfriend. The breakfast was possibly the only highlight. Location was also alright.
