Tucked away on Rathbone Street in the Fitzrovia area, the Rathbone Hotel is close to the bustle of central London but still peaceful. Wonderful restaurants are blocks away, and it's a slightly longer walk to Soho and the theaters of West End. Oxford Street, the most prominent shopping street in England, is less than 500 meters away, and the British Museum, Trafalgar Square, and the National Gallery are all within a mile.

The 72 individually climate-controlled guest rooms are traditionally furnished in warm tones and wooden furniture. Cable television and wireless Internet access are available, and a coffee maker and mini-bar are provided. The hotel bar serves light meals and drinks. For more substantial meals, the Rathbone Restaurant Club gives all hotel guests a 10 percent discount at a variety of member restaurants, all located within walking distance. The rooms are very small and basic- this from a New Yorker! - but what makes this hotel a great value is the location. The staff are not overly helpful or efficient but they are nice enough. Wi-Fi is £15 ($30) a day, which can add up quickly. That said the Rathbone Hotel is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and has a beautiful lobby.
