Hotel Description Map of Location
Located right on the Strand, as central in London as can be, the Savoy is a landmark in and of itself. Monet's famous impressionist paintings of the Thames were done while in this hotel. Covent Garden is right across the street as is the West End and the theater district. Trafalgar Square is half a kilometer away, and so is The City (business district). Shoppers can head to the world-class shops of Oxford Street, which is less than two kilometers away, as are Regent Street, Westminster Abbey, and the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. By walking out the front entrance of the hotel and heading in any direction, guests are sure to come across something interesting.

Opened in 1889, the Savoy offers spectacular views of the River Thames, and many consider it the best place to stay in London. At the Savoy, you might see some famous people because you are at one of the most famous hotels in the world. There are Art Deco flourishes throughout the hotel, and behind the beauty, impeccable service. There are 263 guest rooms decorated in the traditional British style. Amenities include high-speed Internet access, cable television, video game console, multi-line phone with voicemail, fax machine, a television in the bathroom, bathrobes and slippers. The beds are draped in Irish linens, and the bathroom has Floris toiletries.

For those feeling stressed or in need of exercise, the Fitness Gallery offers restorative massages, manicures, and personal training sessions. Or do some laps in the rooftop swimming pool. For those conducting business, there is a business center and meeting rooms including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 800. For food enthusiasts, the Savoy Grill is a Michelin-starred restaurant that serves up modern European cuisine under the direction of Marcus Wareing. For a slightly less formal experience, the Banquette is Wareing's take on the American diner. The American bar is a great place to have a martini; supposedly, the dry martini was invented right here. The Thames Foyer has afternoon tea as well as light lunch and dinner.
