Hotel Description Map of Location
The Strand Palace stands on the Strand, two blocks away from Covent Garden and the River Thames. Right in the city's center, it's in a location that can't be beat. Trafalgar Square, The City (business district), and the London Eye, the best place to observe the London skyline, are within a kilometer of the hotel. For those looking for night-time entertainment, the West End, with its theaters and nightlife, is just blocks away. For shoppers, Oxford Street has high-end shops and is just a kilometer and a half away. Guests can look out the window and find a destination, then walk; it won't be far.

The marble-floored lobby is representative of the Strand Palace's Art Deco design. This large hotel occupies an entire block and has 785 guest rooms spanning nine floors, all decorated in soft pastel hues. All bedrooms have satellite television with remote control, tea and coffee maker, direct-dial telephones, and desks. Wake-up calls can be requested from the 24-hour front desk, and room service can be ordered at all hours. A myriad of dining options are available in this large hotel including the 372 Restaurant, offering a buffet breakfast, and a grill menu for lunch and dinner. Johnston's Brasserie is a double-level bar and restaurant serving burgers, sandwiches, and a prix-fixe menu of modern European cuisine. The Hops! Bar is a sports bar with a pub menu and lively atmosphere, and the Mask Bar serves cocktails until 2 a.m. A business center has telephones and fax machines, and there is a conference facility that holds 200 people.

The standard of the hotel is generally good and the location of the hotel is excellent in relation to the main leisure attractions. However, our stay was spoiled by loud noise from people/TVs in adjacent rooms which went on into the early hours. Also, we found a small cockroach in the bathroom.

Great hotel for the money. Friendly staff, pleasant clean rooms, nice toiletries etc Everything I needed for my business trip and right near Covent Garden as well!

My stay was, for the most part, pretty good. However, there seemed to be quite a lot of trouble getting my phone connected and working properly. Also, my room "key" ceased to work three times and had to be re-set.

Stay was pleasant; price extremely reasonable; room comfortable but tiny; bathroom sink stopped up and never fixed after several complaints; WiFi expensive; cocktails in the bar ghastly.

We were very pleased with everything about this hotel (although it is overpriced--but so is EVERY hotel in London). We made sure to ask for a quiet room, looking onto a small inner courtyard.

Typical small room for London. Hotel location is excellent as Theater and Soho are only blocks away. Room was clean, service just O.K. It is not a bad value, however, when compared to other London properties.
