Kensington Palace

Kensington Palace is located in the Kensington Gardens next to Hyde Park. Kensington Palace was the London residence of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Visiting the palace is a lot more enjoyable that most people imagine. Diana's and Queen's clothing and hat display, the gardens and the information provided by the audio tour will surely make this a memorable London attraction.

Kensington Palace is still the residence of several members of the royal family, while others have offices here. The building itself is stunning. There is a long walkway where you can enjoy the formal gardens. Admission includes an audio tour, which come in several languages, allowing visitors to tour at their leisure. Here you will see furniture, jewels, photographs and personal items from the royal families who have resided here. One of the favorite displays you will find here is the collection of royal ceremonial dresses. Check out the state rooms, which have a very large and impressive collection of 17th-century paintings.

Anyone who admires the late Princess Diana, should make a visit her a must. Though she has been gone now for almost 9 years, the memories of this beautiful lady are still here. The black wrought-iron gates trimmed in gold on the outside was where so many people came to pay their respects when this beautiful life was taken tragically in August of 1997.

There are several attractions within a minutes walk so plan to spend an afternoon in the vicinity. Stay nearby, at the Thistle Kensington Gardens which is situated near Kensington Palace and Hyde Park and is also very close to West End and Knightsbridge and Chelsea.
