This can prove to be your most fiery day out! At The Royal Artillery Museum, visitors get the chance to see the development of artillery from bronze guns to modern missile systems, described through an exceptional international collection. The museum is housed in the historic Royal Arsenal at Woolwich. It is popularly known as Firepower and is getting to be a very popular museum. It is small and contains a collection of artillery pieces ranging from the 14th century to the present day, and has model weapons as well as real ones.
The main attraction here is the Field of Fire exhibition which puts vistors in the centre of a battle. Not that it glorifies war but the experience highlights the sheer squandering of warfare. At the museum, besides the main building you will find a number of other historic buildings which have been renovated to house larger pieces of the collection.
The nearest hotel is Jurys Kensington Hotel, 109-113 Queen's Gate, South Kensington (7 minutes walk away). It is ideal for the business and leisure traveler. This elegant Edwardian hotel has a warm and appealing ambience.
