The British Library is United Kingdom's national library and puts up some of the most unique exhibitions. Visitors can see on display the Magna Carta (1215), Shakespeare's First Folio (1623) and Codex Sinaiticus (c. 350).
At the library also displays works of art by Antony Gormley and Eduardo Paolozzi. Also exhibited is the Diamond Sutra, the world's earliest dated printed book, and the only surviving copy of Beowulf. The King's Library is located inhouse and displays personal artifacts of King George III.
Exhibits on calligraphy, bookbinding, printing, stamps and sound recording can also be found, as well as multimedia and interactive displays.
Even though admission is free to this massive building, paying for a tour is highly recommended.
If you get hungry, just walk south west from the library till you get to Chutneys in 11 minutes. They serve an exclusive indian veggie menu. If you must have a beefy meal, go to Bam Bou, at 1 Percy Street. It is a French-Vietnamese restaurant, with sumptous upstairs bars.
