Established in 1676, Chelsea Physic Garden is one of Europe's oldest botanic gardens. It is a quiet, green spot near the River Thames. Currently, it is used as a research and education facility, and several plant based products have been discovered and tested here. Visitors with a green thumb will be surely fascinated by the climate controlled greenhouses filled with horticultural treasures.
The 3.5-acre garden shows off the history of medicinal plants; a Pharmaceutical Garden and an ethno botanical Garden of World Medicine; botanical order beds; glasshouses and many rare and tender plants. This garden has one of the oldest rock gardens in Europe (1773). Visitors can also take a historical walk and see the various plant species introduced to Britain.
After a tiring day, and botanical discoveries at the park, try eating at one of the places nearby, like Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road, Hunan or PJs Grill. To end the day, step into a trendy club such as Crescent.
