Green Park

The Green Park is one of the royal parks covering 19 hectares (47 acres), lying between Hype Park and St. James's Park. The park is very different from it neighbouring parks because it contains no lakes, fountains or statues, just wooded meadows. This large park - which encompasses Buckingham Palace, the Palace Gardens, the Queen's Gallery, and a memorial to Queen Victoria - is a prominent historic park. It was the favorite of Charles II, who made it a royal park in 1667. The unusual thing about this park is that the Tyburn stream flows beneath its lush surface.

The park serves as a peaceful refuge for people living or working or just visiting Central London. In the summers, you will find a lot of people sunbathing and enjoying picnics here. This park is ideally located and has an abundance of deck chair. The large beautiful lake makes it a nice place for relaxing and people-watching.

The closest attraction to the Green Park is Buckingham Palace.

Visitors looking to stay nearby should try The Goring or The Ritz London.
