Chinese New Year

Heralding renewal after winter, London marks China's traditional celebration with firecrackers, music, bustling street markets, drums and paper dragons. One of the most colorful events of the year. The Chinese New Year festival and parade in Central London.

This annual event, which takes place in Chinatown, Leicester Square, Charing Cross Road, Trafalgar Square and the surrounding area, is organised by the London Chinatown Chinese Association.

The date varies from late January to mid-February, because it is based on the lunar and solar calendars.
