London's New Year's Day Parade started in 1987 and was originally called Lord Mayor of Westminster's Big Parade. It was renamed as the London Parade in 1994. The parade raises substantial funds each year for charity and has become part of the London Parade Festival, which also comprises a series of concerts and other performances in and around London between Christmas and the New Year.
Over 500,000 line-up to view the two-like parade, featuring thousands of musicians and dancers, The parade starts at noon in Parliament Square and finishes on Piccadilly at Berkeley Street approximately at 3 p.m.
