Baisakhi Mela

London's east end hosts the Baishakhi Mela, celebrating Bangla New Year with artists, chefs, musicians and other entertainers showing off their talents amid an atmosphere of culture and fun.

At ‘Banglatown' the Mela kicks off at 11 a.m. with a vibrant parade from Allen Gardens along Brick Lane and into Weavers Fields. See amazing attractions such as a huge Bengal Tiger, Peacock Boat, Bridal Ride and a huge Metal Elephant.

At Brick Lane, find discounts at over 45 restaurants and food stalls along the street. Brick Lane becomes a bustling marketplace as stallholders sell handcrafts and traditional Bangladeshi fashion wares alongside face painters and street entertainers.

Weavers Fields and Allen Gardens have stages for music, dance and drama performances as well as a fun fair, street performers, stalls for food and crafts and a sports zone.
