The underground, as reffered to as the tube, is compromised of 12 color-coded lines and the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) that run from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays. The underground run very frequently, especially in Central London and is fairly inexpensive. During weekdays, travel the tube at 9:30 a.m. to avoid rush hour traffic.
The tube network is divided into six concentric zones; zone 1 is the central area. Most tourists travel within zones 1 and 2, since all of the city's major attractions can be found within them.
Tubes run on a 255 miles of trackway and on these tracks you can also find some ghost stations. As travelers are riding within the tube, the travel between Tottenham Court Road and Holborn on the Central Line and notice a station where no passengers have alighted since 1932. This used to be British Museum station.
