Ride the buses, enjoy the pubs, listen to the tour guides.
We had a great time and it rained most of the time.
It is an easy city to get around if you use transit.

It was really a pleasant stay at Paddington Courts. Thanks to London hotels for booking it. The staff was very helpful and good all in all it was a pleasurable stay. That's why now we've made Paddington Court our permanent hotel as our team visits London regularly due to work.

Dont forget to bring your umbrella.
I wanted to return to the same hotel after attending a residential workshop elsewhere, but was told that I
will have to pay a higher rate. Hence moved to a different place.

Definitely get an Oyster card for public transportation.

If you have specific things you want to see, I recommend you use the underground rail system to get around. It is by far the cheapest and most convenient way to get from one place to another in London. You can get a good map of the city and underground rail system for 2 pounds from dispensing machines in any station.
I also recommend taking the train in to London from Heathrow. It is only 4 pounds one way.
If you prefer to get an overview look at London and have the freedom to jump on and off a bus from one site to another. There are a number of different companies that provide such services. They cost significantly more than the underground, but, offer commentary and history of the sights of the city.

Check out scheduling of places and events that you plan to visit before you will go there! There is a difference between SUMMER and WINTER scheduling almost everywhere.
If you plan to use the underground and buses a lot, you can save money by buying day passes instead of individual tickets, and not at the peak time.
Before exchanging currency, find out whether a currency exchange bureau charges processing fee, and if yes, how much.
You may save money when buying souvenirs if you’ll go to a peripheral shop rather than at the city’s center or near train stations / airports.

It was a very nice trip and I and my family like UK very much and we will visit UK next time in the summer .

The bike tour was pretty good and highly recommended. I think it was called Fat Tire bike tours. You don't get up close and personal with monuments with the bike tour but its a change from walking all over the place.
Definitely try the meat pies in the Pubs, fish and chips in London are over rated, and if you're taking the metro make sure you get the Oyster Card! It will save you dollars!
Other places that were pretty cool, Harrods, Wimbledon, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square...

London Eye well worth doing, aim for dusk so you can see the lights come on over the city. Get an all-day pass and ride the Tube everywhere. Kew Gardens is wonderful even in the winter. Covent Garden market area is fun to wander around in. Next time we'll probably look for a B&B in the Earls Court area.
