London is a fantastic vacation location but VERY EXPENSIVE. Expect to pay double for everything. The subway system , however, is a great bargain. It is very fast and efficient. The major museums are free - everything else is VERY EXPENSIVE. Never-the-less, go if you get the chance. There is great history and culture everywhere.

London is very nice city, but three days there is very few

This hotel was in a great location, close to the to the US Embassy, ideal if you have an appointment there - 2 minutes walk away. Easy to get to via the underground.
-
The underground is inexpensive and awesome. There is not one place that we wanted to go to that the underground could not get us to quickly and with out putting a bite on the wallet. A rental car is not needed and would be a waste of money.

Oyster Card for the Tube and TKTS for the West End and you're all set!
-
Make sure you are close to tube station, can virtually stay anywhere if train is close by. Lots to see, get your theatre tickets from the discount 1/2 price sales.
-
Play at the Globe is good fun. V&A museum is better than the British museum in my book.
-
Simply stay away from the Quality Crown hotel Kensington
-
If you are taking a car and staying in a hotel then check the parking. London is really terrible for parking.

Open air bus, cheap theatre tickets, walking tours
